Trabalho e assistÃncia social: estratÃgias de reproduÃÃo da forÃa de trabalho no municÃpio de Toritama/PE

RESUMO

The work interferes in the contemporary debate about changes in the world of work, considering the current forms of social production and reproduction of the capitalist system and the working class, whose focus goes back to the interventions of the State regarding to the ways of confrontation with poverty and economical development proposals focused on the implementation of so-called âArranjos Produtivos Locaisâ (APLs). It has as central objective the study of existing mediation between social assistance and work from the empirical approximation of the conditions of living and working of beneficiary families from the âBolsa FamÃliaâ Program (PBF) (a monetary award to poor families) in the municipality of Toritama, in the State of Pernambuco. This city is recognized by the manufacture of jeans clothing, setting itself as one of theâArranjos Produtivos Locaisâ (Local Productive Arrangements) in Brazil. It has some features that call the attention of researchers in the social area, especially regarding to the co-existence of high levels of occupancy and that expresses the high level of social difficulties experienced by its residents. This study sought to understand the relationship between production of wealth and social protection, from access to public goods and services and the exercise of social rights from the people of Toritama, demanding services and benefits from Social Welfare Policy, with the guiding question: What are the current conditions of reproduction of the workforce of the families included in PBF from their insertion into the local productive arrangement in the city of Toritama - PE? The hypothesis of the study is that a change can occur in conditions of partial reproduction of the population receiving the PBF for the widening of access to the private consumption of goods and services. However, these families will have difficulties in accessing social policies of Social Protection. For data collection holders interviewed 50 recipients of the Bolsa FamÃlia Program, with the questionnaire prepared in advance containing open and closed questions from the choice of a non-probability sample by quotas. At the end of the work, we got the confirmation of our hypothesis, based on two mediations as trends show that the relationship between production and reproduction of capital and workers: (1) Assistance Social Security, (2) analysis of the ideologicalpolitical function of the PBF, as a measure of living for workers facing the precarious context of the work by the APL in Toritama
