RESUMO

This study aimed to develop innovative practice activities, using new media in the Laboratory of Computer Education (LIE) in learning the discipline of science, seeking to bring the project participants to raise awareness on the prevention of dengue. Therefore, it was used some information and communication technologies (ICT) for the assimilation of meanings as the characteristics of the Aedes aegypti fly and the methods of combating dengue avoiding the increased proliferation of vector fly. The field of this research was the Municipal School of Education Maria Quevedo Bezerra, in Mondubim neighborhood of Fortaleza city, with the sampling students from two classes of fifth year of elementary school. The survey results were analyzed with quantitative and qualitative analysis of the actions developed on and off the LIE, such as clean yard operation and raise awareness in the community through demonstration and leafleting in homes. Therefore, the use of ICT favored positively on students knowledge in relation to origin, symptoms of dengue and preventive methods to combat the Aedes aegypti fly, since the questionnaires demonstrated advances in knowledge of the subject as well as the practices developed showed a new attitude of the studens on the issue of living in an epidemic area.
