RESUMO

The dissertation s objective is to analyze the contribuition of Marxist thought and of the Marxist tradition in the Brazilian educational production that emerged during the second half of the 70 s, in the midst of a process of rearticulation of opposing forces. It makes a contextualized account on the politicizing of the academy during the Country s redemocratization period, elaborating considerations on the Marxist tradition in Brazil, on its influence, and on how it is currently used as a theoretical instrumental in education.
