RESUMO
In this work we present, in a general and summarized way, the differential and integral calculus origin, developing an examination particularly on thinkers and mathematicians works, among these the English Sir Isaac Newton and the German Baron Gottfried Hilhelm von Leibniz, through their correspondences. How and why Newton and Leibniz thought on the key concepts of derivates and integrals? Which was the formulation of these ideas offered by them?
