RESUMO

The objective of this study was to determine V02máx (ml/kg/min.), for indirect method and to classify the degree of aptitude aerobic in the ascent test and descent of the step test with continuous load, startingfrom the values found in the ventilation tube analyzed directly in Aerosport Teem 100. Methodology: the research of traverse character, no-probabilistic, analytic, with data primary, experimental, involved people s of the masculine sex sample and feminine age 13 to 69 years (N = 167) trained (TRD n = 37), active (ACT n = 24) and untrained (UTR n = 106) under the criteria of the American School of Sporting Medicine (ACSM, 1994), Fórum Quebéc (1995), it measured the variables of the direct analyzer using the graduate step test to arise and to go down. The analytic plan used descriptive statistics of maximum, minimum, average, separatrizes, standard mistake of the average and standard deviation. The inferenciais were correlation " r " of Pearson and test " t " of Student, test of Wilcoxon, variance analysis Anova, analysis of multiple regression, quality of measures, index of percentage of tolerance in the verification of the validity, reprodutibility, objectivity, fidedignidity of the test, tables and graphs. The spreadsheet was used Excel 7.0, statistical package SPSS and Word 2000. Results: The indirect equation for prediction of the volume of oxygen for kilo of weight minute (V02ml/kg/min), it was built starting from the variables time of effort (TE) in seconds, age (A) in years, stature (STA) in cm, corporal mass (CM) in kg, heart frequency (HF) for bpm and Height of the step test (HS) in cm. it was Distributed by the time from 60s to 360s according to degree of physical aptitude. The Gaseous Change (GC) in the group of MTRD it was of 0,92, in MACT it was of 0,96 and in MUTR 0,94 with maximum values from 1,04 to 1,09 respectively, and FTRD (0,96) maximum of 1,03, FACT (0,90) maximum of 1,13; the equations of lineal regression in every time exhibited values of R2 above 0,900 for ascents and gone down and steps from 29 to 40 step/min; for V02máx. real of the group MTRD was among 27,69 to 31,78ml/kg/min and predicted from 27,67 to 32,46ml/kg/min and the group real FTRD 23,51 to 27, 13ml/kg/min and predicted from 23,67 to 28, 17mllkg/min; real MATV 43,10 to 50,31mllkg/min and predicted from 43,31 to 48,68ml/kg/min and the group FACT the Real from 26,40 to 31,91 mllkg/min and predicted from 25,39 to 31,85mllkg/min; MTRD the Real was from 43,80 to 57,41ml/kg/min and predicted from 47,75 to 52,94mllkg/min.; the validation expresses for classification of the V02 ml/kg/min the test of Wilcoxon it pointed significancy p <0,05% for the groups; the reprodutibility and fidedignidity of the test of alpha of Cromback presented 0,9998; the repetibility and reprodutibility was evaluated by the index percentage of tolerance that for the appraisers A, B and C were 4,82 respectively, 5,60 and 4,65, ali below 10%, what can be considered appropriate. Conclusions: 1) in agreement with the time and the type of effort, rhythm imposed by the metronome and the continuous increment, the ascent test and descent of steps using the protocol of Cirilo (Sousa, 1997) that does adaptation of the height pf lhe step test to the individual s stature, it can supply parameters of V02máx ml/kg/min as index of evaluation of the individuais capacity aerobic; 2) the height of the step test adjusted for the individuais stature it favors the mechanical efficiency of ascent and descent of the step test presenting closer values of each individual s of this sample condition aerobic; 3) possible E to apply indirect method of prediction of V02máx. corresponding to the degree of physical aptitude and the time I fasten of the test, involving variables of the type: age, stature, heart frequency, corporal mass and height of the step test for apprenticeship when appropriate to the individual s stature in having workout, assets and untrained; 4) it is possibl,e to reuse the ergometry step test for direct evaluation of the individual s capacity aerobic through analyzer of gases Teem 100, as well as to esteem for indirect equation, using the index of V02máx classifying in tables that individualize the condition of the appraised in Very Weak, Weak, Regular, Good, Very Good and Excellent; 5) there are not significant differences among values of V02 in relation to the dear for equation found in the conversion of the regression equation, starting from measured data and analyzed directly in the system of direct analysis of gases TEEM 100; 6) the gaseous change - breathing quotient - it increases proporcionalmente at the time of effort limiting the continuation of the test
