RESUMO

The proposal of this study is to point out some issues of Latin American Modernity, based on the analysis of a few discursive expressions. Through the adaptation from novels to films, two of the most important forms of modern sensibilitiy, we migth observe other social productions. Indeed, focusing on S. Bernardo and Pedro Páramo, Brazilian and Mexican novels and their convertion into films, the research finaly related textual proceedings to social idiosyncrasies. Moreover, in order to describe the historical and political environment which allows the rise of these narrative models in Latin America, it was needed to create two cathegories, convergence narratives and images of consensus, which set our signatures on this general situation and include the process of some modern contents spreading in regional societies
