RESUMO

The objective of this case study, with qualitative, descriptive and diagnosis approaches, was to analyze teenagers entering job market, at the industrial sector in the city of Campinas, State of São Paulo, Brazil. This study was based on 57 interviews which were conducted in an IT company and guided by the following question, "How was the experience of starting working?. The results indicated that the family influence is determining for entering the job market early with the objective to help with the family budget and keep them off the marginal world. It is inferred that teenagers that enter job market have their lives affected positively and negatively. Among the benefits are high school access, knowledge development on communications, position, and relationship, such as capabilities and citizenship, financial improvement. The negative effects would be those harmful for health.
