RESUMO

Low cost technological solutions are defined here as practices that ally thermal efficiency and low investments for the economical and social context of low income populations. These solutions imply in the use of low cost recyde materials and row materials. The present work analyses solar heat water technologies for Brazilian poor people, faced their energetic and cultural necessities. As a case study was design and assembled a solar heat water made by common PVC water tubes finned with used aluminum cans imbedded in the concrete roof of the house. Over the roof was used a transparent cover, made by used soft drink PET bottles. The use of these materials allowed significant cost reduction of the solar heat water collector when compared with other altematives. The field test presented good results according to the satisfaction of the users. It was notice an improvement of the hot water uses in the house. The incorporation of the this solar collector in the house structure allow the low income household to include this altemative in the house construction processo In this way the household besides to get low cost hot water with electricity economy became itselfan spreader agent ofthese technology
