RESUMO

Seventy-two specimens of Prochilodus lineatus (Valenciennes, 1836) and seventy-two specimens of Brycon cephalus (Günther,1869) of the piscicultures tanks from the CEPTA (National Center of Research of Tropical Fishes) were necropsied to study the Monogenea parasites from the gills of the fishes, during April 1999 to March 2000, in the city of Pirassununga, State of São Paulo. It was observed that all fishes examined were parasitized. This is the first record of Apeduncullata discoidea gen. n., sp. TI. in Prochilodus lineatus and Somannulotrema bryconi gen. n., sp. n. in Brycon cephalus. A. discoidea gen. n., sp. TI. can be differentiated from the other genus of Ancyrocephalinae by the observation of the common morphologic features such as vaginal pore dextrolateral; male copulatory organ coiled with two c1ockwise rings; accessory piece distal not articulated; pedunc1e absent; body disc-shaped and morphology of marginal hooks. S. bryconi gen. n., sp. n. presents the following diagnosis characteristics: tegument with annulations in the anterior and posterior trunk, except in the cephalic region; vaginal pore sinistrolateral; male copulatory organ coiled with 1 1/2 counterclockwise rings and accessory piece articulated that possess a membran extending from distal portion of the male copulatory organ to the base. The prevalence of P. lineatus was 100% during all the period of the collect, except in January the 2000 which the prevalence was 83%. In B. cephalus the prevalence was 66,6% in July, August, September and November of the 1999, 83,3% in April in 1999 and in the months February, March of the 2000, them collect concerning May, June, October, December of the 1999 and January of the 2000. In both host the total length and weight did not influence the parasite abundance. It was not found correlation between abiotic factors (pH and temperature) and parasite abundance
