RESUMO

This work presents a study about the form of burial in tomb with lateral chamber used by pre-historical groups that lived at the AmazÃnia, in special in the state of AmapÃ. Itâs an analogical-deductive study about the details of tombs with chamber discovered in territory of Amapà and at the ColÃmbia. The sources utilized to development from this work were historical, etnographic, antropologic and archaeologic sources. Theoretical discussions were supported in etnographicals and archaeologicals studies that possibilited reflexions about the method of burial in shaft with camera practised at the AmazÃnia. So, four pre-historical tombs with lateral chamber from Amapà were analysed, utilizing on this study four etnic characters: the form from the tomb, the sociable hierarchy , the types of urns and the place of burial. With the finality to define the furnishings of four funeral shafts, were fixed manners to analyse the form, decoration and tecnic of the funeral ceramics. So possibiliting the definition of the characteristics from ceramics pieces of the amapaenses funeral shafts and the establishment of absolute and relative chronologies
