The Tamba Trio was a band that appeared in Brazil in the late 50s and has a historic trajectory extending over four decades. In the early beginning of 60s it was considered an important representative of Brazilian jazz . This research had the objective of initially rebuild the historic trajectory of the band. After that, focusing on the span of 1962-1964, it aimed at tracking the musicalaesthetic profile of the group in that period, in order to verify in which way Tamba Trio handled elements of Brazilian music (mainly samba and bossa nova), classical music, and jazz in their arrangements. It was taking into account the musical procedure and interpretation adopted by the band take us close to the idea of friction of musicality : in this case the musical universes -Brazilian music, jazz, and classical music - do not merge, inversely, the boundaries are very often quite highlighted
