RESUMO

Bringing an instigate report on current topics, this study is to contribute to the discussion on the emergence of a new paradigm of development and the positioning of the business within this new paradigm, their contributions and their limits. Sought to analyze how the theory of sustainable development, the ideas of social responsibility and the emergence of a sustainable business bring influences and is incorporated into the strategies and business practices of Catarinense organizations. So provocative, get some ideas and discussions on the influences of hegemonic models of economic growth and fallacies as their ideal model of development for the planet, showing scientific studies and positions that are often placed in the margin of the more disputed tables of business discussions. Sought to make a historic rescue of the about the sustainability development topics, social responsibility, sustainability and business strategy, providing references to various areas of science and knowledge, enhancing the academic productions "tupiniquins" as well as publications and translations in Portuguese. To confirm the trend and the emergence of the incorporation of principles and practices of sustainable development to business strategies, since their creation, this work presents several pieces of research recently undertaken, and presents in full the results of research conducted with the organizations connected to Movimento Catarinense para Excelência, which indicated the importance of adherence to concepts such as sustainable development, social responsibility and sustainability to business strategy
