Successful treatment of dermatomyositis complicated by ventilatory failure.

RESUMO
A case is reported in which ventilatory failure complicating dermatomyositis was successfully managed with artificial ventilation for 18 days while remission was achieved with methotrexate and prednisolone. Such ventilatory failure is reversible and requires an active treatment.
