RESUMO

The objective of this work is the detailed study of all the relevant factors in the biodiesel Brazi lian production, at industrial scale, involving: raw materials, processes, productive chains, potential market estimation, legislation and incentive governmental programs. Basing on the content of these last evaluations were conducted technical feasibility and economic studies focused in the identification, measurement and evaluation of the influential variables in the investors decision in the application of resources in the biodiesel production. The methodology applied, allied with a solid theoretical base developed; constitute a tool for the technical evaluation and financial analysis of the production and of the biodiesel market in Brazi l. The obtained results show that the biodiesel will be competitive with mineral diesel in the long term from the reduction of supply and the price increase of oil on the international market; the production infrastructure consolidation and biodiesel popularization in the consumer market. The "vertical union" of biodiesel production, that is, the integration of the agricultural, oil extractor and biodiesel producer units in a unique plant is one of the solutions for the reduction of production costs in the short term. Otherwise was found that the marketing of biodiesel and diesel blends enables the biofuel appl ication on the market, however the granting of government incentives is a necessary condition for that;
