RESUMO
Electron microscopy studies show that walls from ends of Bacillus subtilis cells are more resistant to autolytic degradation that walls from sides of the same cells. This observation suggests that these two parts of the cell are structurally different. A method is available for the isolation of walls from ends of cells.
