RESUMO

This present work aim to understand the difficulties found for small size companies on the strategic planning utilization. As well as, to identify the methodology of the strategic planning implementation which better adapt to the small companies reality, having on view that the strategic planning process on small size companies has been described such as incomplete, non structured, irregular, sporadic, reactive and informal. For the development of this study, was utilized the research-action scientific methodology. Was applied five of the strategic planning main models on three small size industrial companies of the metal-mechanic sector. The results are presented in charts and figures and the analysis prepared show as the companies understand and react front the methodology of the strategic planning proposed under the optics of businessman participant f the study, beyond to identify as the small size companies make your strategy. On this way, was discovered that this study is important because it influence on small companies management and, also, it can contribute to the theoretical formulation about the subject.
