RESUMO

This article examines the issue of racism and discrimination as impetrated by national Latin-American states toward indigenous societies. The starting point is a theoretical discussion regarding the concepts of race and globalization. The conclusion contends that the indigenous project is opposed to the dominant national project, once the indigenous project proposes a new form of multi ethnical and multi national politics.
