RESUMO

The present paper focuses on the social-environmental responsibility of sugar and ethanol mills of the Triângulo Mineiro region. Firstly, there was an attempt to analyze the development of the Triângulo Mineiro‟s Sugar and Ethanol mills industry and its main social-environmental impacts. Next, Environmental Constitutional Protection was discussed by analyzing its aspects as diffuse interest; constitutional principles that conduct it; legislative and administrative competences and constitutional procedural instruments of environmental protection, mainly public and civil lawsuits. Afterwards, National Environmental Policies were discussed, as well as their applicable legislation and environmental protection and sugar cane production organs. Finally, the social-environmental responsibility of sugar and ethanol mills of the Triângulo Mineiro region was analyzed by preliminarily highlighting civil and social-environmental responsibility and a general overlook at the researched mill Usina Cerradão.
