RESUMO

In the dialogue Fedro we attended the condemnation of writing. Plato affirms in this dialogue that writing although it seems a remedy (phármakon) for the memory, it would be badly in fact, although seemed good, once it would work as a poison (phármakon) for the memorization, not for the memory. Plato tells us this in writing showing us his opinion in relation to the writing and to the limits of writing, that is understood as the space of the ingenuousness and of the intellectual fragility. Let us stand out that this condemnation interferes in a critical one wider seeking to attack the other speeches that also enjoyed prestige in Greece of Plato (the poetry and the sophistic). In way of the attainment of our work, initially we focused the Greek partner-cultural references to the time of Plato. Done this, we tried to show the transformations accomplished by Plato in the society of his time, which broke up with the long Greek cultural past, establishing the cultural pillars of the occident. Besides we presented two readings of the platonic condemnation. The first, based on the postulates of the call school of Tübingen analyzes the doctrines not written of Plato. The second focuses the works of the theory of the desconstruction of J. Derrida. Trying to reflect about several interpretations that this condemnation raised, we took it as object of our work. Confronting these several interpretations, we tried to verify which are the presuppositions of each one of them and in that measured they could be opposed or complemental.
