RESUMO

This work presents a model for VHF mobile systems coverage in rural areas. The model is based on statistical analysis of over 1400 measurements of received level from 13 base stations in Minas Gerais and Goiás. Several parameters are considered: antenna gain and height, distance, terrain irregularities, transmit power and threshold level. Existing estimation models are presented and comparison are made against the proposed model. Next, an application of the model is shown.
