RESUMO

This work is a contribution to the development of instrumentation based on Brazilian research and technology .A Digital Computerized Eletrometric System for radiation dosimetry with electrets was developed and built by us. It may be used in hospitals, research laboratories, nuclear centers, dosimetry systems in general and has also possible aplication in soil physics. This system allows the measurement of the charge on the dosimeter and corresponding dose as well as the identification of up to 1024 users. The Digital Computerized Eletrometric Systems (SEDDE) may be operated in two modes: automatic and manual. In the automatic mode the data is processed with a microcomputer of 8 bits which uses a microprocessor Z80 as a central unit. This arrangement allows the measurement of the charge and dose and the measurement of the dosimeter’s performance such as decay and leakage. The daily data from the system may be obtained as a print-out sheet or in magnetic tape. The Software was developed so as to have with great flexibility to allow several possibilities for the output data presentation such as; integrated charge, dose for any time period (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly). The system has the further advantage of serving as a "clock register" for the hospital or unit being served. In the non automatic mode the dose and the identification code of the user may be obtained.
