RESUMO

This doctorate dissertation presents methods for emulating negative inductance, as well as their applications and stability analysis. Such non-natural behavior is analyzed based on mathematical modeling, circuit simulations and experimental results. Previously presented synthesis methods, the VAPAR and the BVI are described, and a new strategy, called SDR is introduced. The SDR method is useful when the negative inductance is series connected to an electrical circuit. All the methods use a DC-AC converter for synthesizing the necessary voltage. The applications include power factor correction, voltage regulation and transmission line compensation
