RESUMO

In this work, an aeration system for stored grains aeration control was developed based on real time data acquisition and on the process simulation. Thus, a software was written by using the Java programming platform, being able to manage the data transmission and to execute actions related to the aeration control strategy. This software, called AERO, is also capable to simulate the aeration process for the behavior analysis of other aeration systems. Four conditions were related in the control strategy used for the aeration process management. These conditions were dependent on real data and on data estimated by a one-dimensional simulation model. The aeration was applied with the objectives to homogenize the temperature inside the bin and to cool the grain mass whenever was possible. The data acquisition was accomplished by a data transmission system based on the 1-WireTM technology. This kind of data transmission net was adequate to stored grain monitoring and aeration systems control, with potential to be employed in other agricultural processes. The observed data agreed well with the simulated ones, confirming the efficiency of the implemented model in predictive control strategies and for simulation of actual characteristics of the aeration process. The control strategy used in this work also presented satisfactory results, reaching the intended aeration objectives. With an adequate software, this strategy could be easily adapted to other data acquisition and control systems, such as aeration systems which use the 1-WireTM technology for management of several storage structures or large size facilities.
