RESUMO

Art and technique have always maintained very close ties, as advances in technology provided new means of expression at the same time as the demands of artists for new resources boosted the technological progress. The development of new tools of production based on digital imagery not only transformed the technical field, but also influenced artistic creation and perception. Therefore, the actual record of a real reference is no longer the cornerstone of the image, that came to be created from numerical calculations. The emergence of a television channel dedicated to music videosâ broadcast was a milestone in the transformation of the settings of media products, as a new language was introduced and a new televisual experience is required. The computer graphics and MTV are fruit of a historical period whose hallmark is the frantic search for intellectual and technological advancement. Both established new paradigms that have surpassed their fields and reconfigured the society as a whole. Through music videos made with 3D animation techniques, this research seeks to identify these changes and discuss some of its effects on artistic expression, the media and society
