RESUMO

The common bean anthracnose due to the fungus Colletotrichum lindemuthianum is one of the most important diseases all over the country for causing high lost. So the objective was to identify lines that have anthracnose resistance, high grain yield, Carioca grain type and resistance to angular leaf spot. 194 lines F2:6 were taken from seven families derived from the cross H147 x B1. The parent H147 has Carioca grain type and Co-5 resistance allele to several races of C. lindemuthianum. The parent B1 also has the Carioca grain type, and the Co-4 resistance allele against many races of the same pathogen. The lines were evaluated in the spring/summer (2005/2006) at department of Biology/UFLA in south of Mg-State, plus the Talismà and H147 cultivars as check, based warily on grain type. 99 lines selected in last experiment were evaluated based on grain yield, grain type and angular leaf spot resistance, plus the check TalismÃ, in the summer (2006) in the same place. 24 lines were selected and those traits, and evaluated in the winter/spring (2006) in two places, Lavras and Lambari, based on the same traits, and using the same check. Those 24 lines were also inoculated with the 321 race of C. lindemuthianum that match the resistance of the Co-4 allele, but not of the Co-5. The SCAR marker using the SAS13 primer detected the presence of the Co-4 allele in the lines. Fourteen lines have the pyramid Co-4/Co-5, and four showed up based on all traits.
