RESUMO

In this work we present an alternative route to obtain polyanilin e silver composite (PANI/Ag). The method consists to use light of wavelength 254 nm and aqueous solution of silver nitrate (AgNO3) to promote the anilinium mono mer polymerization and the consequent silver ions reduction. The composite was characterized by microanalysis technique, X-ray diffraction, UV- visible absorpti on and Scanner Electronic Microscopy (SEM). The elementary analysis identified the dark-green powder of the composite as PANI in esmeraldine state of oxidation and the metallic particles bright as reduced silver. Preliminary reaction mechanism proposed revealed that apparently the Ag+ ions do not take part, initially, in the reaction mechanism being the OH (Hydroxyl radicals) responsible for the aniline oxidation originated in the NO-3 photolysis. As a consequence of this new route of synthesis proposed, a new pattern me thod for preparation of conducting polymer pattern in non conductor plastic surfaces (glossy paper) and optical images (CPROM, conductor polymers optical memories) using PVA as a supporting matrix and PANI as the pattern producer was also developed
