RESUMO

The works basic proposal is a theoretical analysis of the water reuse theme in the integrated management of water resources and the reuse project evaluation for nonpotable purposes in Federal District of ecological park. Thus, in the introduction are found the main reasons that uphold the development of the theme, as well as the adopted objectives and methodology. The theoretical basis has been described in the next step, including the water utilization, its impact upon humanity, the geographical distribution of its disponibility, going through the history of water reuse practice and the main technical concepts envolved. The water reuse and its importance for different purposes are analysed in the national and international context and, in the case of agricultural application, its positive and negative effects are also explained, besides presenting some considerations regarding the economical and financial aspects associated to the project. A research about the laws this matter allowed the record of the major legal marks adopted by USA and, in the brazilian case, since the beginning of the water law history, allowed to point out the situation that preceded the Waters Code, as well as the legislation that took place afterwards. A special attention was given to the Work Group assignment concerning Reuse of Nonpotable Water, within the Technical Chamber of Science and Technology of the Brazilian Council for Hydric Resources, whose objectives are to find elements regarding the effective institutionalization, settlement and promotion of the water reuse practice in Brazil in the Hydric Resources National Politics context.
