RESUMO

This thesis verifies central aspects of Roberto Schwarzs materialist criticism. Fix a dynamic itinerary of its key-concepts about Brazils specific present. Cultural and literary criticism are initial elements to analyse the contradictions of our internal corrosive reality, at the same time tyed to capitals movement through the world. In the combination of social process and literary composition, this criticism makes itself wholes meaning assimilations form. The hard task to enunciate a self-consciousnesss process about blocking problems challenges the exploration of tensions between social life, intelectual and literary experience. The statement of new results comes along a mixture of perplexity and perversity, as an essencial trace in brazilian social relations and subjectivity. This realistic method joins the theoretical mediation between the ideological oscillation and the material constraints to civilizing parameters in the nation. If the futures history has propensity towards reproducing the promise of a past in which modernization has been made concrete in the way of a constitutive incompleteness, this peculiar situation does not set aside very consequences on the contemporary Theorys debate.
