Ressonancia paramagnetica eletronica do ion Gd3+, em matrizes metalicas de estrutura cristalina hexagonal, LaNi5-xMx, onde M=Pd, Pt, A1

RESUMO

Using the ESR technique we measured the g-shift and the linewidth thermal broadening (Korringa rate) for Gd3+ diluted in the hexagonal metallic compounds LaNi5-xMx, where M = Pd, Pt, Al. It was found that for the compounds LaNi5-xPdx the Gd3+ g-shift change the sign going from Dg = -0.126 for x = 0 to Dg = +0.025 for x = 5. For LaPt5 and LaNi4Al, the positive g-shift are even bigger than for LaPd5, respectively Dg = +0.053 and Dg = +0.063. We discuss our experimental results in terms of the "Multiband Model" proposed by Troper et al (1979)8 that associate the sign and magnitude of the g-shift to the exchange interaction of the Gd3+ local moment and the conduction electrons
