RESUMO

Resilience is a human potential within us and all cultures throughout the History, and makes part of an evolutionary process and may be promoted from birth. This Dissertation of Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology was developed in the Core Center on Psychosomatic Medicine and Hospital Psychology of PUC/SP. This Dissertation aims at examining a resilient process in businessmen/businesswoman of the Brazilian and international organizations from different states. For this purpose, an evaluation of resilience factors from such businessmen/businesswoman was developed according the work of Reivich and Shatté (2002) that proposes seven factors as core resilience competences, such as: Regulation of Emotions, Control of Impulses, Optimism, Causal Analysis, Empathy, Self-Efficacy and Exposition. The Resilience Coefficient questionnaire of Reivich and Shatté (2002) was applied in a sample of 77 businessmen/businesswomen. The results were tabbed from gathering the answers into two categories: results within the average that refers to a resilient result and results outside the average. The data analysis, based on the work of Reivich and Shatté (2002) and the theoretical reference of the Reichian and Neo Reichian theories, points out several resilience factors in the researched sample and the need for developing some of the factors, more particularly, the Control of Impulses, the Exposition and the Self-Efficacy. This Dissertation proposes a reflection on the resilience in the organizational context that discusses the importance of developing the resilience in view of the current great transformations in contemporary world and their impacts on life and health of businessmen/businesswomen and on life and sustainability of the organizations
