RESUMO

: Environmental degradation is becoming a worrisome problem for the life on the planet, actually, beeing incorrect disposal of solid waste one of the principal factors that contributes for this process. This work approaches the question of the degraded sites, since waste generation process, through the relations that affect the soil, air and water, briefly describing site remediation processes and, finally, doing a research about a case, which has used the solid waste anaerobical decomposition acceleration technology. Used methodology consists in evaluating massic reduction and leachate COD removing efficiencies and heavy metals attenuation. Used data consist in the evaluation of the waste amoun disposed on the site, physical determinations of the disposed waste and of the removed material from the cell and, finally, analitical determinations of leachate parameters. The result, concerning to massic reduction efficiency, was superior than, the one supposed by the process introducers. The analysis of leachate COD removing efficiency was possible, since that this parameters was monitored for eight years. However, the follow-up of leachate solved heavy metals attenuation efficiency was prejudiced by their not monitoring, since the process implantation, but it was possible some considerations about final concentrations of heavy metals solved in the leachate and in the neighbouring lagoon water
