RESUMO
Abstract The jurisdictional instrument of protection of the right of access to public information is known as habeas data. We talk about improper habeas data. In Uruguay the action is regulated by the Act nº. 18.381, 17 October 2008 (arts. 22 and following).The notes of the typical process of access to public information will be the subject of the present work, with special consideration in the main pronouncements of the Judiciary in the matter.
