RESUMO

The input shaping technique was employed in this work to reduce the vibration effect at a flexible beam, caused by a step motor actuator. The technique is based on the cancellation of poles of the system by allocating zeros on or near poles. The switching sequence of the step motor was designed in a strategic way so that the vibration produced by the train of pulses generated by the step motor is minimized. Two strategies for vibration passive control of the flexible beam were designed. The first strategy allocates one zero over a pole of the system. The second strategy, considers uncertainness on the parameters of the system. In this case two zeros were allocated near the pole. The results obtained show a significant reduction on the amplitude of the flexible beam during the observation time, for the first strategy. The second strategy also reduced the amplitude of vibration of the flexible beam; but the reduction was less signification due the pole still maintain some effect about the structure. Both results show that the oscillator response of a flexible structure, when the parameters of the system are well-known, can be reduced considerably without adding cost to the system.
