RESUMO

This research proposes the extension work as a space for professional formation through extensionist activities. It is responsibility of the universities to train professionals that could be prepared to the current market situation. The question is: would the university be prepared for this training? The higher education institutions develop in their educational area the knowledge, and have as social responsibility, the return of knowledge to the society. These institutions have a big challenge, redefining their role in the global transformations, how knowledge is broadcast, and how to make it committed to society. The inseparability of teaching, research and extension is a tripod that can be a way to the HEI accomplishes their mission within the social commitment. In this context, the university extension is a privileged place for dialogue with society, as a way for HEI to develop their social role. The central question that this paper refers is how knowledge is broadcast in Network Extension College. Thus, this research is characterized as qualitative, descriptive and explanatory. Compares the relationship structure of three networks, formed by groups of students of fourth semester of an administration faculty in São Paulo State coutryside, within a practice of extension developed during the second half of 2010. It is possible, by means of network analysis, to study the structural position and intensity of the relationship between the actors and see how the conditioning of knowledge diffusion occurs. It is possible to see that close relations and cohesive networks studied are more likely to promote the diffusion of knowledge among actors. The research conclusions reveal that the inclusion of students in extension practices can promote the development of skills and abilities required by an administration professional, and that it also can add value to this professional training, with regard to the experiences of citizen praxis.
