Qualidade de Vida nas perspectivas de Crianças e Adolescentes Portadores de HIV/AIDS

RESUMO

This paper had as its goal identify, describe and analyze the indicators of Quality of Life from children and teens who were infected by the HIV/AIDS. Those pessimistic predictions that the HIV/AIDS used to kill and spread illness all over the society at first, fortunately, werent right.And that made it possible for kids to reach the childhood and also the teen period even though they were born infected by the HIV .In this study, 30 children and adolescents with HIV/AIDS were submitted to the Child Quality of Life Score (AUQEI Autoquestionnaire Qualité de Vie Enfant Imagé) and also to a semistructured interview. The score obtained from the research were analyzed by the descriptive and inferential statistics. Among the results, it was found out that 42% of those interviewed was female and 58% was male. The average score found was 53.2 showing good Quality of Life among all the participants. The score gained from AUQEI was from 44 to 63 and only 20% of the children got numbers inferior to 48 which is the number that shows low Quality of Life. Comparing to the average found with the one showing 52.1 obtained from the authors of the research- it was found similar results with those whose Quality of Life was considered to be at the adequate standart.Numbers show that it was built 19 categories and another 108 subcategories,among which we can mention: Problems Resolution(37.6%), Recreational/Culture Participation(15.4%),Medical Service (12.2%). These categories show the numbers that indicate a nice perception of personal quality of life. As a result, this study helped to better understand the Quality of Life from childrens and adolescents point of view and also to provide arrangements that will help develop the Quality of Lifes standart based on the physical ,mental and developments needs of people in similar situations.
