RESUMO
The studying present main objective is to evaluate the quality of life of lower limb amputees, through specified interviews (with questionnaires) among patients under treatment at Vila São José Bento Cottolengo hospital, in Trindade/Go (Brazil), in a retrospective time of 02 (two) years. The study type is the qualitative and retrospective cohort. Once contacted, the patients were submitted to a questionnaire to survey the quality of life, in a general context, the people surveyed have a Quality of Life from median to good. They consider themselves backed by stable civil situation, secure interpersonal relationships, income from retirement or job, they enjoy their home and move around without difficulties. As negative aspects, we may mention the frustration and rejection of their physical appearance, poor satisfaction with their professional performance, with the public health service and transport, as well as frequent negative feelings. By studying these patients, in all its variations, we achier way to implement education programs on public and private health, using ideological institutions - such as universities, schools, hospitals, health centers, kindergartens, nursing homes, etc. The focus of this action is the prevention of most hazardous injuries, which may ultimately lead to irreversible damage, as amputations.
