RESUMO

This text consists in a review of the solid waste cellular landfill techniques, as a part of an integrated solid waste treatment system. Within this new conception, it suggests new ways for the development of cellular landfill projects, i. e., new methods for treating wastes along with the possibility of the perennial use of the site. This work consists, basically, in the critical analysis of the standards related to solid waste management and to the development of cellular landfill projects, the bibliographic revision, detailing the process of the anaerobic waste degradation as well as the elements that take partin the project. The objectives of the proposed methodology are to make the procedures which are better used nowadays, so that the landfill cannot be considered a waste isolation technique. According to this text, modifications are recommended to topics related to these procedures and to the research related to the landfilling of solid wastes
