RESUMO

In this work a diamond anvil cell was built, using diamonds with top tables bigger than usual, to be loaded with samples of thichnesses "- 150 J-Lm. This allo~ for the increase of Raman efficiency as ~ consequence of increasing the scattering volume. The limit attainable was established to be P = 8.4 GPa. Several modifications were introduced to improve the project of the original NBS - type cell (National Bureau of Standard - type). The most important was the method employed here to fix the diamonds permanently. The cell was tested in use, to study the Raman scattering of LiCsS04 up to 7 GPa. As the -use imposed several runs, the cell proved perfect- 0peration up to the limiting= pressure"i)f this -project
