RESUMO
This research in the Doctoral Program in Education at UCB analyzed and evaluated the National Program for Integration of Vocational Education with Adult General Education (PROEJA) in Schools Related to the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM) particularly in the Technical High School of Industrial UFSM (CTISM /UFSM). Program PROEJA is part of educational policy directed to vocational education for youth and adults adopted by the Ministry of Education, through Decree No. 5.840/2006, in order to invest in social and educational inclusion of socially vulnerable segments through general and vocational educational to work and life. The participants were managers of establishments of professional and technological of CTISM/UFSM, teachers who worked directly with students of PROEJA Program, graduates students of the first class of the program PROEJA CTISM. Data collection was through questionnaires given to students and semi structured interviews with the students themselves, with managers and teachers. Research has shown that it is possible to run a professional education program integrated adult basic education, since it has an educational management that understands education aimed at social inclusion as another education where all students are equal but different, that difference should be perceived as the essence of the program. This research also showed that two schools continue with the ongoing programs and the third ended the program, realizing the difficulties of management and high dropout students. For graduating students, Program PROEJA in CTISM was transformer, both in personal and professional aspects.
