RESUMO

This thesis analyses the implementation and expansion process of the Improvement Program on Social Service at UNICAMP in double dimension: it?s inscription on the most extensive Program in São Paulo state related to health politics and the experiments from the professional students who made them, with insertion on job market. The time/space cutting was defined by the ?Improvement in Social Service in Hospital de Clínicas ? UNICAMP?, during the period from 1994 until 2001, with the ones who experienced the process. The research was developed starting from document and bibliographic sources, being empirically based on questionnaires applied on these students during the aforesaid period and with recorded statements sources. The results point out to an amplification of the Courses and demand raise by these health professionals, starting from the implementation of UHS ? Unique Health System ( SUS ? Sistema Único de Saúde). The social paths express experiences of women who tried, through professionalization and qualification, a way of ascending social mobility
