RESUMO

This work aimed to study the production of biopolymers by genetically modified microorganisms. Xanthomonas campestris pv campestris and Xanthomonas axonopodis pv manihotis were studied as a receiver lineage of the genes under study, and Zymomonas mobilis and Xylella fastidiosa as donor lineages. The first chapter is a revision article about the production of biopolymers microbians where a bibliographic survey about xanthan and levan gum is performed. The second chapter reports the transfer effect of operon gum of Xylella fastidiosa in Xanthomonas campestris in the synthesis of exopolysaccharide, where the influences of the addition of this operon in the production of exopolysaccharide and in the physics-chemical characteristics through chromatographic and rheologic analysis were verified. The third chapter reports the influence of cloning and expression in Xanthomonas mobilis in the synthesis of exopolysaccharide, evaluating the expression of levan-saccharase enzymes in Xanthomonas and their influence on synthetized exopolysaccharide by an analysis of productivity, chemical composition and rheologic characteristics. The fourth chapter reports a study about the application of ions in xanthan gum solutions and the influence carried our in their reologic characteristics.
