Processamento e compressão do sinal de video utilizando a transformada wavelet

RESUMO
A study of the applicability of the wavelet transformed, in the processing and in video signals compression is presented in this work. The study was carried out as a consequence of the good results obtained in the application of that transform in the compression and processing of static images. A study on the main techniques of images compression, with emphasis on encoders with losses and theoretical concepts related with transformed images is also presented. Simulations were done in order to evaluate the available mathematical tools for that purposes, as well as for the evaluation of the performance, compatibility and efficiency of the outlines proposed for the compression of video signals. A method of movement estimation in the wavelet domain coming from the coding technique PACC (Conditional Code Partitioning and Joined) jointly with the property of the transfonn to be shift variant is presented as a new proposal.
