RESUMO

This research describes and analyses the issues of challenges for implantation of a control model of production of cars bodies and pick up trucks produced by Fiat Automóveis S.A., wich haven#t been in an assembly process yet and meet the necessary requirements by the process of pre-assembling stock in relation to the systems interface, use of data collectors, JIT and automatization. Such a procedure highlight the type of exploratory descriptive research what defines the research is the case study. The data have been obtained through primary sources to help in the diagnosis and problem solving. The data analysis was qualitative in this current case study. The conceptual fundamentals of the proposed model sees logistics as a linkage between the market and the operational activity of the company. In the context, as a competitive differential, the manufacturing strategy that leads to a production decision: taking establishing varied strategies of the project, PCP and continuous improvement. With the significant growth of production and the need of a cost reduction so as to compete in the market, Fiat felt obliged to adopt low risk strategies, avoiding interrupting the productive flow. The proposed model of the production control planning includes the logical sequence of the car bodies present in the process locating them in parallel rows. The data analysis of the case studied shows that this model can bring significant results wich gradually will achieve a sustainable competitive differential wich will keep the company#s excellent figures. The main changes have been identified in the studied period, this will help the study of future processes in the implantation of logistics systems in companies.
