Prevalência, perfil clínico e sócio-demográfico dos portadores de feridas, usuários do Sistema Único de Saúde, internados em um Hospital Geral no Tocantins

RESUMO

The word wounds refers to tissue lesion that may reach any layer of the skin and adjacent structures, provoking on the injured individual physical, psychic, social and economical changes. In a hospital environment it is necessary to distinguish the population of wounded population with the objective of directing the clinical guidelines to the local reality. The aim of the present research was to analyze the prevalence, clinical and socio-demographic profile of wounded people, users of the Unified Health System users, hospitalized at Tocantins State General Hospitals Intensive Care Unit, for more than 24 hours. The research occurred in a four month period, with 1.311 wounded people as the sample. The average age was 48,59 0,53 years, the majority of this sample is composed by male (62,1%), married or engaged in a stable union (55,6%) and deriving from upstate (50,6%). About education, 21,7% of the sample had an incomplete elementary education and, considering occupation, 22,1% of the patients were retired. Hospitalizations for surgical treatment were predominant (83,8%) and the external causes of morbidity and mortality were the reasons of hospitalization for most (41,1%) of the people, although many of them (60,3% ) didnt have chronic diseases. The most usual comorbidity (23%) was arterial hypertension. Relative to wounds, its majority (78,3%) had acute wounds, being the surgical (72,8%) and pressure ulcers (13%) identified as predominant. Wounds originated by hospital environment were predominant (89,2%). The average of wounds on patients was 1,27 0,02 and average of pressure ulcers was 0,26 0,02. The research identified that patients hospitalized for clinical treatment presented (27,8%) at least one pressure ulcer if compared to customers hospitalized for surgical treatment. Analyzing the period of hospitalization, 45, 9% of the patients remained hospitalized for a period of 1 to 5 days; prevailing (85,9%) of hospital discharging and fate was reached, mostly (95,2%), whereby the wounds. The results demonstrated specific characteristics of this institution service, being important for identification of institutional diagnosis, aiming to develop guidelines directed to the treatment and prevention of identified wounds, besides holistic care, multi-professional, of customers.
