Predição à violência de gênero em estudantes universitários : estudo exploratório

RESUMO

The objective of this research was to identify the characteristics of possible victims and offenders of gender violence through the Bioecological Theory. For this purpose, it was used an survey designed quantitative method. This study was conducted in Porto Alegre/RS with 385 graduation students (211 female and 174 male), independent of social class, age or race; all the students participated voluntarily. The data were collected by an auto-applied anonymous questionnaire that contained demographic questions, the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (k>0.79), and the Sexual Aggressive Behavior Inventory (a=0.68). The results were discussed according to the levels of the theoretical framework used. Amongst the findings, it was noticed a significant correlation (p<0.02) the possibility of a gender violence victim to assume aggressive behaviors with the partner. This finding is in agreement with other in the literature, that is, the violent behavior is learned by the victim whom may become her self an aggressor. We expect our results may contribute to the promotion of more efficient public politics for the prevention of the gender violence.
