RESUMO

Following the trend among the academic studies to promote a discussion about contemporary art discipline, as Hal Foster (2003), Terry Smith (2006) David Kuspit (2005), this job aims to rescue the experiences of La Casa Encendida a cultural space of Madrid and cultural centers of Banco do Brasil, Itaú Cultural and SESC, institutions that converge into contemporary artistic practices, contributing to a composition of analytic scenario about spaces of art in the contemporaneity. This study focus the actions taken by those cultural centers inside the area they are operative. To accomplish with that the reading of important authors on contemporary art has been done. The purpose was to select the trends and more often practices to build a demonstrative picture to facilitate the analyses and reflection on the organization of such institutions inside the context of spaces dedicated to communication, creation and interpretation of current cultural manifests.
