Possibilidades e limites de execução das ações de promoção de saúde nos moldes da educação popular em saúde na estratégia Saúde da Família

RESUMO

Perform actions of health promotion is one of the priority of the Family Health Strategy, where the program of control of the arterial hypertension and diabetes, Hiperdia, is one of the privileged space for these actions, as their measures of control and prevention in their majority are located in the lifestyle component of the field of health. However, in practice, health promotion actions are restricted to educational activities in the traditional model of education, where the health professional has biomedical knowledge and transmit to the service users and the community. The Popular Education in Health, which has its theoretical support in Popular Education, whose greatest exponent was the intellectual Paulo Freire, proposes a methodology for health education on the knowledge of the other, the complexity of reality, searching the wakening of a critical conscience , the construction of knowledge, autonomy and citizenship. As a principle of health promotion there is a commitment to the pursuit of social transformation and thus, through the democratization of information, reduction of social inequities and social organization there is, consequently, an increase in the level of population health. The objective of this research was: to analyze the possibilities and limits of implementation of health promotional activities in the form of Popular Education in Health. This is of action research conducted with a team of Family Health Strategy in the city of Dourados Mato Grosso do Sul who had a duration of seven months. The work with the Popular Education In Health facilities found in implementation, it was favorable to the needs of the team, needed to reduced financial resources and little change in the routine of service for the execution of actions of Popular Education in Health. However, the bureaucracy of service, targets to be met with visits and campaigns hampered the work of Popular Education in Health. The differences between the professional categories in the team and not the recovery of their knowledge was a challenge. The process of teaching and learning in a way contributed to the Popular Education in Health improve self-esteem of the professional team, increased the level of satisfaction and appreciation by the user of the service, worked to shift the model of health care, allowing more actions in the field of health that the disease, redistributing power in the team. The results generated by the work of Popular Education in Health unchained changes in the short term and maintain them, without regression of the progress achieved, even after the removal of the mediator of the process, demonstrating the feasibility to implement the Popular Education in Health in the Family Health Strategy.
