RESUMO
In this survey, we investigate and analyze the phenomenon of MBAs in Brazil and its role in the dissemination and legitimation of new ideas and practices in management. MBAs, as well as business schools, are part of the management field, which also comprehends the business media, the management gurus and the consulting firms. The study focus will be the Executive Masters Degree programs. The survey included four major steps: (1) an investigation about the theme in scholarly journals and the business media, (2) interviews with programs coordinators and key-persons, (3) analysis of data and interviews, and (4) final report preparation. The study provides a broad picture of the phenomenon in Brazil, emphasizing its key-questions.
