Pomerode: a cidade mais alemã do Brasil?

RESUMO
The work intends to answer the challenge we find behind an activity that dawns up as a new regional economic potential: the ethnic gastronomic tourism. In Santa Catarina, mostly in the Vale do Itajaí Region, some years ago we found an economy based almost exclusively on the textile branch. But there is a great tourism potential that the region of the Vale do Itajaí has to offer and where typical parties are configuring a new economic option, thanks to the revival of historic traditions which represent this mentioned region. Usually a city has renovation as a tendency, but the preservation of the social memory, of the cultural patrimony and of the local traditions rooted on Germany colonization, became to be a new source of interest to tourists in contrast with other Brazilian regions. So, well dedicate us to a survey of the historic basis of traditions, culture and German current culinary in Pomerode City, comparing the daily immigrants practices, when they here arrived in the XIX century originated from the more varied parts of Germany, with the nowadays practice, in the typical culinary and in the gastronomy known as Germanic in Vale do Itajaí. The research will search to answer if Pomerode is the most German city in Brazil. This study will lead to the main answer presented in this work, which will check the adaptation to the local available resources, consolidated with the typical plates served in Festa Pomerana (Pomerode Party), and in the main typical restaurants in the city and region as a touristic product. In this way, by studying the Pomerodes German traditions, culture and culinary, will lead to the main answer presented in this work, which will check the legitimacy of the local traditions - if they are just an invention - or it is a reborn of the immigrant culture form
