RESUMO

The tomato fruit borer Neoleucinodes elegantalis (Guenée) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) is considered a key pest in tomato crops in Brazil. However, there is not a sampling plan for this insect to compose decision-making systems of IPM programs. Thus, the objective of this work was to determine the Conventional sampling plan for N. elegalis. This work was carried out in twenty commercial tomato crops from march to april 2005 in Coimbra, MG state. The crops were divided in two phenological stages: plants with up to three tomato clusters and plants with more than three tomato clusters.
